10 more apple trees were planted on the Inkerman today. Organised by Peter Corke from the Borough Council ably assisted by Paul Stone the Mayor. Members of the Ashgate Allotments dug the holes, Council rangers brought the trees and children from Old Hall School planted them and filled in the holes. Afterwards Transition Chesterfield pressed apples collected by the 'Abundance' project and all had a taste of how good fresh apple juice can be.

Great Wassail event yesterday, over 60 people came along. Mulled cider from apples collected by Transition Chesterfield. Mulled fresh pressed apple juice and a variety of cakes.

Don't forget our Wassail event on Sunday 13th January 2013 at 2.30pm. Mulled local cider (apple juice as well), morris dancing, 'doff' your hat to the apple trees and hopefully some cake!

Hope to see you there.

Unfortunately the park suffered from some vandalism two nights ago - a plastic litter bin was set alight. Council and police informed.
